Eurock Audio Archives #2 Conversation w/ Malcolm Mooney 1980

Author:

I was living in LA at the beginning of the 1980s when I met Malcolm Mooney former lead singer of Can. At that point Eurock Magazine was at its high point in terms of distribution entering the 7th year. Malcolm called and said he’d heard of my work in promoting Euro rock and suggested we meet up. He invited me to his home and there we had a free ranging chat about his time with Can, music, his teaching, music and art. It was recorded on a small Panasonic portable recorder. What was recorded of that conversation is not bad quality and has not been tweaked or edited for the most part. Adjust your volume as needed. Malcolm was a great cat and is still active today in art and music. You can check out his web site MalcolmMooney.com for the latest News & Info…

    Hi Archie,

Great to see these here, but I’m getting an error message for Mooney and Cluster… can you fix? It would be great to add these to the RBP audio archives if you’re amenable to that.

    • Barney,
I re-linked them and they just now they worked for me.
Pt. 1 of Malcolm takes a few minutes to download, Pt.2 less than 2 minutes. As you’ll see the Malcolm conversation is actually in 2 parts of aprox. 25 minutes each. It mostly unedited, but flows pretty well. The sound is ok, recorded on a mono Panasonic portable on a coffee table in his living room. It was 1980 after all…
You can use any of these you’d like…
      Archie
