The new issue of The Word magazine (featuring a great cover story/interview with a naked Lady GaGa by Mark Ellen) includes a photo-spread on Lloyd Johnson: The Modern Outfitter.
There are some photographic gems, among them John Lydon in a leery Johnson’s plaid suit in 1980 and the cover of Wreckless Eric’s album The Wonderful World Of…, which has a whole bunch of people in suits from Lloyd’s shop (including Danny Baker drafted in to stand behind the drum-kit). I’ll leave it to Kosmo Vinyl to account for the journey made by the suits from World’s End to the photo-session and back again…
And, in this month’s issue of local paper Kensington & Chelsea Today, Don Grant names the show’s venue Chelsea Space as “the coolest place on the planet” on the night of the private view.
Lloyd Johnson: The Modern Outfitter is on until March 3. Chelsea Space is open Tuesday – Saturday.
