Due to the very nature of the ‘net and its supraddictive qualities, the remix river is in flood. The debut Carbon Manual format being set – 3×3 originals/remixes – there’s more of some and less than others. Extremely promising is a mix of ” Empty ” by UK maestro Zuul ; this remix is the punk with none of the mess, it’s electronica with attitude. It’s totally weird what people hear in your shit: I would never have expected Zuul’s mix, but when I heard it I knew right away that it made sense and forced the song into a new, more challenging shape. It’s impossible but real how many things you can make when you don’t handle the process yourself. Remixing is adoption, it’s making orphans, it’s construction from the center.
