Inbetweenies: Gods of Metal in Milan and Jeff Beck at the Albert Hall

Just been doing the rounds of European festivals after quite a scary writing drought.It seems that all the major rock bands released their albums in the last two years and things were quiet until now.
Two weeks ago I went to the Gods of Metal in Milan.Last Weekend I watched Metallica film their French only release in the beautiful surroundings of Nimes Arena,France.And on Sunday July 12 I will be celebrating my birthday at the Bos Pop festival in the Netherlands enjoying the company of Jeff Beck,Tesla,Queensryche,Chickenfoot and Lucinda Williams.Last week I was lucky enough to see Beck (who’se star is defintely rising again) at the Albert Hall where he did a mind blowing encore with an awe struck Glimour and even forced himself to sing a verse of Hi Ho Silver Lining.Rock music has defintely improved since the end of the eighties and the fans are getting more eclectic with Prodigy playing at Download and receiving a storming reception.
Now with rumours abounding that Zeoppelin may fill some of the days left vacant at the 02 due to the unfortunate but highly kitsch demise of Whacko this looks like being a vintage year.
